This morning I awoke to a message from the Sulphur Mountain Site Manager informing me that the property our site was sitting on had been recently sold. The new owner has chosen NOT to renew our lease agreements. Accordingly, my agreement with them is no longer per our contract. The conversation for today would be discussion of a plan for the removal of all site equipment .. ASAP.

As the day went by and many many phone calls later, it seemed like there was very little time to find another site to replace the one we currently have. In fact, by the end of the day, it was clear that all of the equipment had to be removed much sooner than the arduous task of finding a replacement site could be accomplished.

Work schedules being what they are these days, I had no choice but to to drive up the mountain this evening and remove the 445.700 DMR repeater and associated equipment from the hilltop.

I do not have a new high level home for it yet, so if anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

Thanks to everyone who devoted many years of their time and expertise to making the Sulphur Mtn flagship site such a success. It has a long history of service to the amateur community. Just a little trivia…
. Did you know that this repeater on this site was the first DMR system in Southern California? Yep, and not far from being the first D-Star system of it day as well.

What on earth will I do with all the money I was paying in site rental and internet service fees every month??? Hmmm….. The Yaesu FTM-300DR is about to hit the shelves!

73, all!
